Our Junior Room caters for children roughly between the ages of 2 years and 3 years and 3 months old. Lots of free play based around what the children are interested in provides lots of opportunities for exploring, practising and learning. A wide range of table and floor toys enables the children to have the space to play, try things once or many times, depending on their choice. We strongly promote their own creative flare and imagination, they are also encouraged to attempt new  and highly praised when they achieve what they have set out to do.

We have plenty of construction materials, a home corner with dressing up for role play, arts and crafts, sensory tubs, small world toys, loose parts play, music and movement, books, interactive resources, singing and physical equipment to challenge each child’s level of development.

Our highly-motivated staff in this area promote all the children’s curiosities, they offer support whilst encouraging them to tackle new challenges and develop their own thought processes. Opportunities for repetition are encouraged so the children can practise and revisit activities they have previously had the chance to explore and also try out the things they see in their everyday lives. As we know children love to mimic what they see others doing, particularly their parents and this provides them with the chance to do so, staff always act as good positive role models.
